The Google Files, Part VII

Of course, nothing I say here is new. It’s all been said before. There are many voices who have been beating the drum for years. Some have been academic researchers, some Google insiders, and still others just professionals like me.

Here are some of the more prominent voices that you probably haven’t heard.

Dr. Robert Epstein

Dr. Robert Epstein co-founded the American Institute for Behavioral Research and Technology in 2012.

Back in 2019, Epstein spoke to Glenn Beck about how Google’s search results in 2016 had shifted votes to Hillary Clinton (in a losing cause), and had effectively manipulated public opinion in the 2018 mid-term elections to favor left-leaning candidates.

Epstein even set up a peer-reviewed research project that used a scientific approach using passive monitoring to study and observe whether and how much Google was shifting messaging to favor one side.

The benefit of this methodology, among other things, is that it takes away Google’s ability to say that results such as the ones I showed you are personalized and therefore not reflective of what everyone was seeing.

He predicted that the same thing would happen in the November 2020 election. Epstein made the claim that if all of Big Tech rallied around one candidate, that candidate could benefit from 15 million votes shifting, simply due to information being promoted or suppressed “organically”.

His research was able to show that yes, voters of all political leanings saw search results that were biased to the left in 2020.

Perhaps more nefariously, Google displayed reminders to “Go Vote”, but disproportionately displayed them to users who were left-leaning, while suppressing these reminders to conservative voters. This was the digital equivalent of Mark Zuckerberg paying $350M to ensure that voter turnout would be higher in urban areas that favored the left than suburban and rural areas that leaned right.

Donald Trump ultimately lost re-election by 42,764 votes across three states.

Even if you forget about the Kracken, or the mules, or the drop boxes or the mail-in ballots…how many of those votes were shifted simply because they saw only the information they were allowed to make the “right” choice?

Here are some more links where you can hear from Dr. Epstein himself. They’re all worth a listen.

Zach Vorhies

Zach Vorhies is the Google whistleblower that reached out to James O’Keefe in 2019. Vorhies famously copied information from internal Google documents into this compilation.

Phrases within Google like “Algorithm Unfairness” are downright Orwellian. Remember that Google’s original patent made the assumption that the Internet is a democracy and that “good ideas” would naturally bubble up to the top because of links. But by 2016 Google had abandoned this more libertarian approach and replaced it with machine learning that would enforce “fairness” by breaking its original algorithm.

Ultimately policies and processes that were used to suppress legitimate “fake news sites” were expanded beyond their original scope to suppress sites that were deemed by a subjective few to be “non-authoritative”. And with the world’s most powerful AI and machine learning at its fingertips, that could all be “trained” to instantly suppress any site that did not align with the biases within Google’s internal culture.

Here’s the original page and video which for some reason has been scrubbed by Project Veritas after they kicked O’Keefe out.

SEOforDeplorables.com

Okay, I’m a nobody right now, but hear me out here.

Both of these gentleman had a hard time getting their message out. A few conservative news outlets picked up the story, but the main challenge that both of them had was that everything they were saying sounded too theoretical. And so both of them drifted back into obscurity.

There was no way to prove what they were saying was true.

You can’t prove that something happened before it happens.

And even after it happens, how do you go to 300 million laptops and smartphones and look at everyone’s search results?

Well, I’ve shown you. SEO Tools capture every search result page for every major search query and archives them historically. You can see how any major site ranked on any particular day for any major query.

I’m hope that the data I presented in the earlier posts makes something clear once and for all. Everything that Epstein and Vorhies said was completely accurate.

And while Twitter/X has had its internal shakedown with the arrival of Elon Musk, Google is still proceeding on the same road as it did when it first set off in 2016. In fact, by now they have likely evolved far beyond where they were in 2020 as far as their ability to influence opinions on any subject in the world.

Let that sink in.
